I realize this next statement could be interpreted as politically motivated, but it isn’t: there is very little understanding given to those who have a different opinion from one’s own these days. So often my heart aches at the harsh words and accusations and downright ugliness I see between people. It’s not mere dislike; it’s hatred. And much of it seems to be aimed at people who try to hold to Godly values instead of quietly bowing to worldly standards. We are CHOSEN to speak the truth (always in love!) even in the face of hatred. Being loved by the world might feel nice for the moment, but being loved by Jesus is even better. Would the world die for me? Nope. It would expect me to die for it. Jesus, my Savior, sacrificed Himself for me. Will we sacrifice “popularity” for Him?
