When my girls deliberately did things they knew they shouldn’t, it bothered me a lot more than when they made innocent mistakes. I remember my mom telling me before I went out with friends, “Remember Whose you are.” In other words, I’d made a commitment to Christ; the way I behaved needed to prove that commitment. God gives His children certain instructions: Love your neighbor as yourself; love God with all your heart, soul, and mind; treat others the way you want to be treated; go into all the world and share the gospel… When we follow His instructions, we bring glory to Him. We prove that He makes a difference in our lives. May the words we speak and the things we do point to the presence of His Spirit residing within us, and may we glorify Him every day of our lives on this earth.
