The ruler of the world was coming to claim Jesus’s physical body. The ruler of world thought he’d won when Jesus released His last breath. The ruler of the world was wrong. Yes, Jesus would go to the cross, but not because of anything the ruler of the world said or did—Jesus went because He knew His destiny as the Messiah. He chose to submit to the cross. He did it out of love for you and for me. The evil one and his minions can stir up trouble and cause their conflicts, but the truth of the matter is, JESUS is the CONQUERING LORD. He gives LIFE that overcomes physical death. The ruler of the world has a rude awakening coming. He is nothing compared to the Lord of lords, the King of kings, the Messiah and Savior, Jesus Christ.
