Security is a wonderful thing, isn’t it? We all want to feel secure in our job, secure in our relationships, secure in our homes. But stuff happens. A new boss changes the atmosphere at work or companies close; relationships become strained or disintegrate; storms or burglars or mold affect our safe haven. But we have security with Jesus. When we confess Him as Lord, He sends the Holy Spirit to indwell us. There is nothing of scripture that says the Holy Spirit can be taken from us. If we’re truly saved, then we have Him forever. Oh, we can grieve Him with our sins. We can ignore His prompting (which leaves us feeling mighty uncomfortable). But nothing and no one–not even death!–can take Him from us. Security…a wonderful thing. And we find it in our relationship with God through Jesus Christ the Son.
