Probably all of us have set to some task not out of any real joy or desire to complete it, but because someone else expects it of us. We perform the duty out of obligation. God expects us to follow Him with an attitude of willing obedience, not grumbling obligation. “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing,” the psalmist wrote. When we serve Him with a joyful attitude, we set a good example for those who are watching. And believe me, the world is watching! This crooked generation wants nothing more than to prove that God doesn’t make a difference, that He isn’t important. WE KNOW BETTER. So live what we believe with joy and enthusiasm and energy. Shine like stars, Christians! Our dark world needs the Light.
