Have you chosen the way of truth? Do you cling to His instructions as tightly as you cling to His promises? Do you strive to taste of all He says, and not pick and choose the scripture that are most palatable to you? Please don’t take these questions as an accusation, but as an invitation for self-contemplation. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (using the MSG) says, in part, “Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.” If we truly want to follow Him, we have to read the map. Not just in part, but the whole. Can you imagine trying to get from California to Florida and only focusing on the highways with orange groves growing alongside them? We’d never get there. We’ll never get to the heart of God’s wisdom if we don’t absorb ourselves in the entirety of His Word. He gives us all we need to travel life’s pathways successfully, so don’t lose heart—go to the Word.
