Living our faith

When we say we’re going to “keep” something, we usually hide it away somewhere so it can’t be stolen or damaged. When keeping His testimonies (His statutes or instructions), we want to live them openly rather than hoarding them away. The Bible refers often to one’s heart, and it’s pointing to the center of man, his core, where his values, convictions, and morality lie. When we tune our hearts to Him and His ways, our thoughts, actions, and attitudes will change for the better. Living rightly (righteously, being holy) brings the blessing of God’s favor. As a friend of mine put it, it adds jewels to our crown. We’ll get that crown when we reach heaven, but in the meantime keeping His testimonies points those we encounter to the One who saves, redeems, and renews. What a blessing to lead a lost soul to the Savior!
