These words were spoken by a man named Nicodemus to Jesus. Nicodemus was an unlikely person to even approach Jesus, let alone acknowledge that He’d come from God. He was a member of the Pharisees, proud in his strict adherence to Jewish law and fiercely opposed to the message of grace (he thought he was good enough all on his own, thank you very much!)…yet Jesus intrigued him. Now, he didn’t yet understand WHO Jesus was, but something drew him to explore deeper understanding. And that exploration could lead to heart change if he opened his spiritual eyes and saw the truth: this Man was not a mere “rabbi”—He is the incarnate SON OF GOD!
