The meaning of “making the most of the time” is kind of interesting. In the Greek, it refers to acts of commerce—actively buying up every available opportunity. “Time” points to suitable circumstances or opportunities. I don’t think I need to expound upon “because the days are evil.” We see evidence of this all around us. But that’s exactly why we must make the most of the time—why we must seize every opportunity to share Jesus with those around us. There are souls in darkness who need our Light! We must proclaim the Gospel of salvation through Christ. We must glorify God in what we say, what we do, what we think, who we are. We must set the example that points others to the Cross. The thing about time is, it runs out. And we don’t know when that moment will come. So let’s share the truth of Jesus while we still have time to speak and while those we encounter still have time to listen. Seize the moment! Shatter the darkness. Share the Light.
