Jesus prayed for His disciples, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” As His followers, we are not part of the world. Yet we’re stuck in it until that time we’re called Home. While we’re here walking among people who have no respect for God or His Word, we have a responsibility to reject the world’s attitudes. Sin destroys. Let me say that again: sin destroys. Sin might be fun in the moment, but it only brings harm and regret, not only for us but often for others caught in the wake. Sin drives a wedge between us and our Father. How can we be at peace when we’re not in fellowship with Him? Temptation is a constant battle while we walk this earth, but remember this: the One who is in us is greater than the one in the world. If we resist temptation, it will flee, for we are able to overcome by the strength of the Holy Spirit who guides and directs our daily path.
