There are times a person will instruct us to do something, not because it’s best for us, but because it will benefit them. Selfish, yes? That is never the case with God. His righteousness (being morally right) makes it impossible for Him to take advantage of us. Whatever He commands us to do is for OUR good, that we might prosper (spiritually) and live our very best lives. I have never regretted a decision that was supported by God’s Word. Of course, to know whether I’m following His Word, I need to be IN His Word. We can’t just blithely take someone else’s opinion about His Word; search it out yourself. Ask God for discernment. Then go where He leads. God will never lead us astray.
