True, honorable, pure, lovely, commendable… It’s a sad commentary of the time in which we live, but very little of what is reported in our news and social medias could be defined by that list of words. So does that mean these qualities have been obliterated? I don’t think so. Truth, honor, purity, beauty, and morality are still present in this world, but the world doesn’t want to acknowledge those worthwhile qualities. Paul encouraged the Philippians believers to seek out evidences of those qualities. More than looking for them, he wanted those who’d proclaimed a belief in Jesus to BE those qualities. Jesus set the example for us, living in obedience and dedication to the Father all the way to the cross. Even if we have a hard time finding news reports that match Paul’s list of positive descriptors, we can show those qualities by living in dedication to the Creator.
