When you’re down in the dumps or in the midst of a heartache, doesn’t it give your spirit a lift if someone expresses concern for you? A card, a kind word, a hug…these are little things, but they can make a big impact. 1 Corinthians 13 includes this familiar snippet: “…these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Jesus spoke frequently of loving others. Love is more than a feeling, it’s an action. When we reach out with small acts of mercy and love, we impact hearts. Is there someone in your circle who could benefit from an act of encouragement? Reach out with Jesus’s arms and give them a touch of concern today—it’ll do your heart good, too.
