A God who cares

(With Wugmumps underfoot, I am focusing on them instead of work; thus, this week’s devotionals are “recycled” from several years ago.) When my middle daughter was learning to talk, she spoke so quickly her words ran together and I wasn’t always able to discern her meaning. Sometimes she gave up and walked away, head low, defeated. Sometimes when I pray I find myself so overwhelmed, the thoughts and feelings tumble over each other and become a blur of muttered groans. But I needn’t fear I’m misunderstood or unheard. The Spirit intercedes. He reads the wordless cries of my heart and interprets them to the Father. Thus the Lord always knows what troubles me, and He is ready to provide comfort and wisdom. The world might seem in chaos, but my heart need not be, because I have a God who cares for and listens to me.
