Find us faithfu

People fail and fall. It’s a given in this sin-fallen world. When a Christian brother or sister falls, too often we want to finger-point and mutter, “What is wrong with that person?”, and otherwise tear them down. This scripture lets us know pretty clearly that we’re setting ourselves up for judgment when we respond to someone else’s sin that way. I need to pay more attention to me and how I choose to live than putting so much focus on the choices of those around me. Judging others isn’t my job; that responsibility belongs to Jesus. MY job is to live, with the Holy Spirit’s help, in the most God-honoring way I can and strive to point others to Him. I need to be more concerned about plucking out my own sins than pointing out others’ sins. As James wrote in 5:8, “Establish your hearts, for the kingdom of God is at hand.” Let Him find me faithfully serving when He comes.
