How many times have you said to a child (or heard, when you were a child), “You know better than that”? Once the child knows better, he’s expected to behave accordingly. God, our loving Father, has the same expectations for His children. If we know what’s right and we don’t do it, then we’ve chosen to sin. Sin separates us from God’s presence, which is a miserable place to be when we’re His child. If we know, we need to do. But He never sends us out to “do” alone—the Holy Spirits guides and strengthens us to do what’s right. Isn’t God the best, wisest, most loving Father? He sets us up for success.
