You know, despite our best intentions, there are times when we will miss a step and find ourselves in uncomfortable locations. It isn’t fun, and if we stubbornly stay there, can even mire us in guilt and shame. But there’s an antidote: repentance. Nothing we say to God will take Him by surprise. (Remember Monday’s devotion? He’s sees it all.) When we admit we messed up, He won’t rear back in shock. He won’t roll His eyes and say, “Too bad, so sad, deal with it yourself.” He won’t wave His hand and announce, “Nope, sorry—three strikes and you’re out.” He LOVES His sheep. He’s always waiting for us to turn around and reach out for Him. So the moment we genuinely repent, He forgives. He wipes that sin away and never brings it up again. He lets us start anew on His pathway. What an amazing, loving, compassionate, giving, wise God we have. When we follow Him, we always win.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our foray through the 119th chapter of Psalms. I pray the words have encouraged you! May God bless you as you journey with Him.
