The heart

That’s a pretty lengthy passage today, isn’t it? And a whole lot of comparisons in there. You know, we silly humans like to put people in categories, creating divisions based on race, religion, economic status, intelligence, etc. Then we sometimes treat people differently based on how we’ve categorized them. But Paul really set the believers in Rome straight: God judges the heart. That’s not to say God loves some less than others. He loves everyone. He sent His Son to the cross for everyone’s sin. He offers salvation to everyone. But He also recognizes that not everyone is for Him. Those who reject Jesus will not receive the reward of eternal life with Him. When we reach heaven’s gates, God won’t ask if we had lots of money, if we were members of the most elite clubs, if we won beauty contents or sporting events. But He will ask if we knew His Son. It’s an important question to address while we still walk on the earth. Do you know Jesus?
