Faith in Christ—believing that Jesus is the Son of God who was sent to earth through the virgin’s birth, nailed to a cross as the sacrifice for the sins of mankind, and rose again, conquering death forevermore—saves us from eternal damnation. Jews in Jesus’s time followed a strict set of rules. Or, I should say, attempted to follow a strict set of rules. When we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, our sins are washed away. We have right standing with God the Father. There aren’t hoops to jump through or a process of cleansing or preliminary steps to take. We must simply believe, receive…and then live for Him.
