“Redeemed how I love to proclaim it!” is a line from a Fanny Crosby hymn that I recall the congregation singing with great enthusiasm and joy when I was a child in the Mennonite church. The moment we trust Jesus as Savior, we are redeemed from the penalty of our sins. But we will experience full redemption in its fullest sense when Jesus returns and we are taken with Him to Heaven. All the suffering we’ve faced in this life will be over. Until that moment, however, it’s our call to live in the hope that is founded on God’s faithful promises. This life isn’t all we get! Stand strong in His might and peace—our redemption draweth nigh!
