Paul wrote a great deal in chapters 1-13 of Romans about what it means to live as a Christian as we walk this earth. If you look back at the past several weeks, we see quite a few commands. Some seem pretty hard to follow! But he wanted us to understand that if we are Christ-followers, then we need to remember we’re to be about the business of Christ. We’re to do good and trust God above all else. And here’s the reason why: Time is of the essence.
Our world is changing rapidly. Paul advises Christians to wake up and get to work pointing others to Him. Our salvation—not in the sense that we need to be saved from our sins, but speaking of when we reach eternity—is fast approaching. Each day is one day closer to the day we take our final earthly breath; each day is one day closer to Jesus’ return. What if it was today? Would we be satisfied with the ways we served our Lord and Savior?
Time is ticking… Let’s get to work!
