Home is heaven

When we were kids, we sang this silly little song, “Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I think I’ll go eat worms…” (I did mention it was a silly song, right?) Being disliked isn’t a good feeling. Most of us want to be liked. But the fact is, if we choose to love Jesus, there will be some who won’t like us. And it’ll have nothing to do with us and everything to do with Him. His message has created conflicts for centuries; that isn’t going to change. If someone treats you badly because of your Christian convictions, remember that Jesus was treated badly. Remember the Holy Spirit is within you and will provide comfort and the strength to endure. Remember that any dislike tossed at you on earth is nothing compared to the everlasting love you will enjoy in heaven. Here’s another song, and it’s not silly: “This world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through…” Perhaps some of the difficulties here are meant to keep us from getting too comfortable. Our heart-home is in heaven with HIM!
