Look at the response of townspeople to the Samaritan woman’s invitation. They knew this woman. They knew how she’d lived, the wrong things she’d done, the shame she carried. In the past she’d skulked around, evading attention. But no more! Now they saw her excited and eager to share. What a change. Yes, being with Jesus changes us. Our change lets others know what a difference Jesus makes in our lives. The people left town and went seeking the One who’d brought such a change in this woman’s life. Who knows how many other souls were impacted that day. Now, stop and think… What if she’d gone home and kept her encounter to herself? What if she’d feared rejection or ridicule? What if she decided she had no right to tell anyone else they were lost? Would any of them have gone looking for Jesus? We don’t know. But we do know because she didn’t keep Him to herself, others had the chance to meet Him, too.
The Messiah is coming again. The time of His return draws closer every day. There are countless souls still in need of a Savior. We must be telling people, “Come, see…”
