Attainable peace

Peace… That’s something we all want, but it’s a little hard to come by, isn’t it? We often think of peace as an absence of conflict—residing in a bubble of safety and calm. That kind of peace is actually rare in any time period, because we humans seem to have difficulty getting along (*ahem*), but that’s what the people under Asa’s leadership enjoyed for a full decade. Safety. Calm. Lack of conflict with other people groups and within their city walls. What bliss, yes? But impossible to expect today, yes? Um, no. Peace isn’t out of reach. It is attainable. But there’s a Source that must be acknowledged, respected, and worshiped in order for peace to dwell among us. We’ll look at that Source more intently tomorrow.
