Wise words. Oh, to be found guilty of speaking wise words! Wisdom is spiritual insight. It’s being able to speak and act guided by the truth of God. Hang out on Facebook or even in a coffee shop and you’ll encounter lots of different viewpoints. Some are being shouted in angry or snide tones. But which views hold the greatest merit? The ones that are firmly grounded in Scripture and reflect God’s point of view. When our minds and hearts are filled with God’s wisdom, guess what happens? Our actions then reflect God. We grow in kindness and compassion. We speak His truth—we must speak His truth in this mixed up world!—and we do so in loving ways. The world’s wisdom is foolishness in God’s eyes, but wisdom from above rescues lost souls from eternal condemnation. May we grow in grace, truth, and love so our words and conduct point to the Savior.
