Mom’s continued faithfulness, which she learned from her mother’s example, in spite of pain and suffering inspired (and continues to inspire) me to hold fast to my faith. My paternal grandmother Lillian, who died of cancer when my dad was still a young boy, wrote in a letter to her sister, “Although pain sometimes consumes me, I look to Jesus for strength.” Dad learned to do so through his mother’s example. Even though I never met either of my grandmothers because they went on to Glory long before I was born, my life has been impacted by their faithfulness. My parents passed those lessons forward. Oh, may my faithfulness inspire my children and grandchildren to hold fast to faith. May JESUS be my family’s treasure through every generation.
