Joy, peace, and eternal security

Humility really gets a bum rap. So often people think being humble means being weak and spineless or seeing oneself as lesser in value. It is neither. Jesus died for us! That makes us very valuable to Him. Honestly, humility is recognizing our fallen state and admitting that we need a Savior. Until we humble ourselves before the Lord, we cannot receive Him. The last half of James 4:10 is “…and he will exalt you.” He will redeem you—wash you clean of sin! He will make you God’s child—holy (set apart for His service) and righteous (in right standing with God the Father)! Humbling ourselves before Him leads to joy and peace and eternal security. What could be better than that?
